PoolHawk sits on the edge of the pool and will alarm if there is entry into the water; a remote alarm also sounds to notify the owners or supervisors.

The system detects wave movement just below the water's surface and is designed to detect solid objects for example children or pets; the weather and light objects, such as balls, are ignored.

As an additional safety measure it is not possible to remove the PoolHawk without setting off the alarm, unless you first temporarily disable the sensor using the special key; this ensures that no-one will be able to remove the alarm without parents, a lifeguard or a supervisor knowing!

The system is particularly useful for private pools, hotel pools, health and fitness clubs and commercial pools where lifeguards may not be present.

Hotels and Holidays Parks often have swimming pools where there is little, if any, safety equipment.

When the pool is open the PoolHawk can be used to alert operators and supervisors that there is somebody in the pool and that, as a minimum, it should be regularly checked.

During unsupervised hours a lockable barrier, fence or wall, is obviously the most comprehensive method of pool safety however, unless the fencing is quite high, it is normally easy to climb over and can ruin what would otherwise be an attractive view.

The combination of a low fence and a PoolHawk would be the optimal safety measure a hotel or holiday park should install.

A video system can also be added to get an immediate view of the pool if the alarm sounds.
